Sammanfattning:The transformations experienced by the Venezuelan society in the late nineteenth century, were marked by the biggest technology advanced of the moment: the railroad. Los Teques, a farming village embedded in the Cordillera de la Costa, saw its natural urban growth affected when, in the late XIX century, the insertion of the nineteenthcentury works, such as the highway and the railroad, played a key role in expansion and unification of the town. Los Teques, favored by mountain climate, achieved an enviable flourishing; the urban south unfolded transforming in a town that led the establishment of accommodation facilities to cure lung diseases. A condition that encourages the construction of accommodation and luxurious residences, not only for healing but also to prevent lung diseases, a triggering event to the consolidation of Los Teques as a city for leisure, rest and as holiday site. This research is framed in the transition period between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, when the positivist structural changes started to happen, from 1870 and ending in 1935, with the change of publics politics. This is a historical period that coincides with the emergence of academism, eclectic and neo hispanic architecture, expressed in the constructions built during that period. The methodology used was of a bibliographic search and firsthand documents. There were used other support tools, such as interviews and constructing timelines for ordering documents and photographs, which contributed significantly to the development of historical discourse. The proposed objectives and hypotheses outlined were met, showing that for the decade of the 30s of last century, Los Teques a farm town became a city with a valuable urban and architectural heritage, which in 1927, is raised to Capital of Miranda State and one of the favorite places and ideals of our country to spend time and vacationing.
