| Riassunto: | Bronchiolitis is a major respiratory disease in children worldwide, the main cause of hospitalization for acute respiratory tract infection in children younger than 2 years old (1). Objective: To assess the effects of the use of nebulized Salbultamol, 3% hypertonic saline or their combination. Method: We reviewed medical records of 349 patients hospitalized with this diagnosis during the period January 2010 to August 2012, who received the treatment mentioned and accordingly 3 groups were organized among others who were assessed by a clinical scale. Results: after applying exclusion criteria, were taken and analyzed 115 stories, with the result that none of the variables studied (days of hospitalization, duration of treatment, clinical course, changes in arterial oxygen saturation) had statistically significant differences with respect to use of different therapeutic regimens studied. Conclusions: Our results are consistent with those reported in the literature regarding the clinical course of patients with bronchiolitis, which has no significant difference with the use of different treatments such as salbutamol and / or 3% hypertonic solution. |
