सारांश:To assess the PI of uterine arteries between 11 and 14 gestation weeks, this associated with PAPP-A serological determination in predicting pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH), in high risk obstetric patients in the Dr. Miguel Pérez Carreño” Hospital between August 2012 and March 2013. Method: analytical, comparative and no experimental study, with a prospective longitudinal design. It was evaluated the PI of uterine arteries and was determined the level of PAPP-A in 48 pregnant women between 20 and 35 years old in their 11-14 weeks. Also, successive checks were made to determine if patients developed PIH. Results: 16 of 48 patients had PIH (33%), where predominated those patients with PI in the 95th percentile (9 cases), followed by patients with PI in the 50th percentile (7 cases). These ones, showed a minimum value of PAPP-A in 0,53MoM, and a maximum value of 2,01 MoM. Who not had PIH (32), the 50% of the PI of the uterine arteries were in the 50th percentile, it means that this method has a high specificity and a negative predictive value. This group recorded a minimum value of PAPP-A in 0,56MoM and a maximum value in 2,8 MoM, they were found significant differences in the average of PAPP-A between both groups. Conclusion: the combination between Doppler of uterine arteries and PAPP-A increases the sensibility to prevent PIH.
