Summary:Municipio Libertador at Distrito Capital, has been a vulnerable area in relation to the persistence of Dengue cases, fact which has been shown in the official epidemiological records for the last ten years. With the idea of characterizing the causal behavior in function of the environmental conditions, the objective of relating rainfall and weekly air temperature to Dengue cases in the period 1995-2002 came about, in Municipio Libertador, Ditrito Capital. A series of rainfall and air temperature data was created on a weekly basis and was compared to the Dengue records in the period 1995-2002 through regression analysis. Then this procedure was re-applied with defased in one and two weeks data. The results point to the fact that the conditions of rainfall and air temperature which were measured in a week previous to the evaluation in actual time of Dengue cases describe between 17 an 25% of the relationship between variables. This allow us to conclude that this variables really come to represent an important part of the universe which Dengue cases occurrence describes, observed during the period studied. It is sugested that further evaluations be made to other conditions such as the values of climatic variables and their frequence in the week previous to the causal study.
