Riassunto:This paper reports the results of a study about Venezuelan nationality since its appearance in the Constitution of 1811 until current time, with the entry into force of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela’s Constitution, with settles a series of novelties in matter of nationality. Likewise we’ll see the historical backgrounds of the condition of Venezuela as a Spanish Kingdom’s province and as a Spanish colony since 1498 until 1810; the Venezuelan as the King of Spain’s subjects and the institutions stablished through the three centuries of colonial life. Later on we will get approached the constitutional legal framework of the nationality across the 26 Constitutions; from the Constitution of 1811, with gave birth to the Venezuelan nationality and its evolution, to the current Constitution of 1999, analyzing the concepts and political conceptions about acquisition of Venezuelan nationality that had been in each Constitution, the changes made in those Constitutions, until get to the current Constitution, and the conception of nationality established in it, in articles 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
