| סיכום: | To determine de effects of travoprost BAK- Free and travoprost BAKpreserved over the ocular surface of patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension of the glaucoma consult of Miguel Perez Carreño Hospital. Methods: Prospective, longitudinal and descriptive study; the effects in ocular surface were identified and described in a group of patients receiving travoprost BAK- Free represented as group A and patients receiving travoprost BAK-preserved represented as group B, these effects were measured through breakup time test, lisamin Green dye and the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) questionnaire. Results: 13 patients were included in the results. 8 patients were women, 5 of group A (71,43%) and 3 of group B (50%), with a mean age of 59,57 years for group A and 54,83 years for group B. the results of the tests realized in the initial visit were compared with each visit in both groups, but was not statistically different (p>0.05). Conclusion: Even though there were no significant differences noted in the results, several authors have described the use of anti-glaucomatous BAK-free as better tolerability, and less discomfort symptoms, which lead to better compliance of treatment. |
