| Streszczenie: | Milk production at tropic conditions confronts the challenge of use crossbreed cattle (Bos taurus x Bos indicus) with reactivity behaviour. With the aim to evaluate different human gentle handling effect in crossbred primiparous cow’s two assays (E) were conducted. The effect of gentle handling on ethology, milk ejection and ovarian resumption process were considered. Twenty eight pregnant heifers were assigned at three treatmentsin E1: SM= non-human gentle handling, PSO= gentle handling without human personalized contact, CE= gentle handling and human personalized contact by corporal brushing (10 min/d); all treatments start at ± 47 d prepartum. At calving, handling milking was applied twice and with calf presence, pre-milking and post-milking suckling. In E2, SM and CE were applied on 38 pregnant heifers; both treatments start at ± 49 d pre-partum. At calving, mechanical milking was applied twice and without calf presence or suckling. Variables related with behavior (ethology and reactivity; ETO and REAC), milk ejection (stimulation time, milking time, saleable milk, calf consumed milk, residual milk, milk composition, etc.), reproduction (ovarian resumption; RAO) and endocrine process (cortisol, oxytocin and progesterone; CORT, OT and P4) were measured. OT basal level was equal in all animals (p_0,05) independent of treatment or E. CE caused effect on CORT (p_0,05) depending of lactation d. CE favoured epimeletic and et-epimeletic behaviour (p_0,05), ETO relationships (p_0,05) and reduce REAC (p_0,05). The morning milking time was longer by CE in E1; morning and afternoon milking time were longer by CE in E2. Consequently, more saleable milk per d (p_0,01), and at 90 d (p_0,05) were obtained. Milking efficiency was improved in both E due to CE effect (p_0,05). The OT area under the curve was affected positively by CE (p_0,05) in both E. Milk components were affect by CE (p_0,05) but differentially between E. CE produce +123 milk (fat corrected at 4%) kg at 90 lactation d than SM and PSO (p_0,05) in E1, while in E2 +178 L represented only a tendency (p=0,11). RAO or P4 were not affected by treatments. Concluding, it was possible alter the pregnant crossbred heifers behaviour though gentle handling and human – animal personalized contact and decrease the stress caused by first lactation milking period and conditioned better milk ejection, independently of manual or mechanical milking system or presence or absence of the calf. The benefits of the prepartum practice extend until almost 90 d of lactation. |
