| Resumo: | The role of Social Support Network for Older Nueva Esparta state is activate itself as a strategy guided to their environment which, added to social networking, positively can face to aging, therefore, we designed a proposal for management. Methods: prospective and cross-sectional descriptive. Results: institutional programs are extensive but benefit only 10% of population, maintaining a coverage deficit and predominantly informal support in the context. Of 305older adults interviewed, 27.2% know the programs, 22.6% is beneficiary and 26.2% use social networks. Of the 60surveys conducted for the social entrepreneur, where skills and professions were explored for the development of the profile (mostly students), 83.3% were motivated to volunteer. Conclusion: now is time to plan and undertake social support network because there is receptivity for construction the social tissue and establishment links using transverseaxis, both institutions itersectorial level and with communities organized. The scope of it will depend on the interests, possibilities and needs of the population, organizing available resources for more effective and assertive management and increasing coverage to the entire elderly population, both productive-active elderly and for those with high biopsychosocialrisks. |
