Sumario:Objective: to study the changes in the anterior keratometry, obtained after INTACS ICI and INTACS SK rings implantation in Keratoconus. Methods: this is a retrospective, observational and longitudinal study. The review of the medical records of 61 patients for a total of 91 eyes, with a diagnosis of Keratoconus assessed by corneal topography was made. The population was divided into two study arms, patients with INTACS ICI rings and those whom the INTACS SK were implanted. A registration of the anterior average keratometry, before and after surgical intervention was made, comparing its variability until the third month. Results: in both arms of the study the most important changes in the corneal flattening were observed three month after the surgery, with a statistically significant decrease in 2.9 diopters with INTACS ICI rings (p = 0.018), and 4.1 diopters (p = 0.000) for INTACS SK group. Conclusions: patients treated with INTACS SK had a superior flattening after intrastromal corneal rings implantation, in both the first and the third month of the postsurgical period
