| Summary: | In Venezuelan for doctrinal criminal law, the corporations criminal responsibility is a polemic issue, but this has not an obstacle for a number of legislative acts that have established such a responsibility. The Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice has also accepted this criminal responsibility. On the other hand, business people, who do not understand the legal intricacies, are intimidated because they feel much of the legislation is against their interests. This, of course, has a consequence in 5 The methodology used in the elaboration of this thesis could be described as mixed. In order to analyze doctrine, current legislation, and court rulings, it was important to carry out legal, bibliographic and documentary research. For case studies and socioeconomic or socio-legal impact analysis, the typical methods of sociology of law were used, cases were documented with journalistic information, and relevant numbers and interviews of important economics actors were selected opportunistically and according to opinion.
