Gaia:The foundation of towns in Venezuela has been studied in periods of specific time, for example many investigations only studies the «colonial cities» or «oil villages» created in the 20th. Also, there are not many inquiries about cities founded during the nineteenth- century. The main objective in this article is to elaborate a chronology about the creation of the most important population centers in Venezuela since the Spanish domination until the 20th. The methodology consists in a gather of the main urban entities of Venezuela according its founding date and studying its circumstances. Finally, during this investigation was discovered that the main cities in our country are not founded isolated. The majority of our urban centers were established in massive foundational processes according an historical context, for example the «colonial cities», «agricultural colonies», «hinterland towns», the «oil villages» and the «industrial cities» were part of cycles of creation.
