| Summary: | To determine the variability of daytime and nighttime blood pressure and pulse pressure in healthy women, pregnant and non pregnant, with the use of ambulatory blood pressure for 24 hours. Methods: ABPM was performed in 30 pregnant and 30 non pregnant healthy both groups for 24 hours. The group of pregnant discriminates in younger and older than 20 weeks. Results: We observed in pregnancies under 20 weeks and not pregnant, the stroke pattern is "dipper" and over 20 weeks, the SBP pattern is "non dipper" (p 0.017). No differences in the values of pulse pressure. Conclusions: The pattern of systolic blood pressure in pregnant women with gestational age greater than 20 weeks is modified with respect to non-pregnant and pregnant women with gestational age less than 20 weeks, who presented a similar behavior. |
