Tutor: : Irving Valencia.La geometría representa una parte fundamental dentro de los contenidos tratados en la asignatura de matemática de la Educación Media General. A pesar de esta realidad, existe una deficiencia en el aprendizaje de dichos contenidos por parte de los estudiantes. Esta situación es muy común y conocida por los docentes, sin embargo continúa siendo un obstáculo para la mejora en la calidad de la enseñanza de la geometría. Dentro de esta realidad se encontró dificultades en el aprendizaje de ciertos contenidos, específicamente, en el cálculo de áreas y perímetros. Partiendo de lo anterior surge la idea de elaborar la propuesta de una unidad didáctica que pretenda crear un aporte en la solución de la problemática tratada, en este sentido, esta investigación tiene como objetivo el tratamiento del cálculo de áreas y perímetros a través de actividades didácticas enmarcadas dentro de la matemática realista y la resolución de problemas. La investigación estuvo bajo la figura de proyecto factible llevándose a cabo dentro del mismo una investigación de campo donde se planteó una propuesta didáctica a través del diagnóstico de la situación, para posteriormente con su debida fundamentación teórica realizar un procedimiento metodológico acorde con los objetivos propuestos y al tipo de investigación. Producto del trabajo realizado se lograron alcanzar resultados relacionados con los objetivos correspondientes al problema planteado ya que se encontraron herramientas muy útiles dentro de la óptica realista y la resolución de problemas que permitieron orientar de manera positiva el enfoque utilizado para la propuesta, asimismo fue posible proponer recomendaciones que promuevan la reflexión sobre la importancia que representa una mejora en la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la geométria. Abstract: Geometry represents a essential part inside the topics treated by the subject of mathematics in the General Medium Education. Despite this reality, there is a deficiency in the students regarding the learning of geometry. This situation is very common and known by the teachers, however it continues being an obstacle for the improvement of the quality of geometry teaching. Within this reality it have been found difficulties concerning the learning of certains contens, specifically, the calculation of areas and perimeters. Starting from this point arises the idea of making a proposal of a didactic unit intended to be a contribution in the solution of the treated problem, in this sense, this investigation has as an objective the treatment of the calculation of areas and perimeters throughout activities framed inside the realistic mathematic and the problem resolution. The investigation was under the frame of a feasible proyect taking place inside of it a field investigation where it was proposed a didactic unit through an analysis of the situation, and then after establishing the right teoric foundation elaborate a methodological process according with the objectives posed and the kind of investigation.
