Guanylate cyclase (EC 4.6.1.2) catalyzes the formation of guanosine 3’,5’-monophosphate (cyclic GMP), which is postulated to act as an intracellular messenger on the action of various biologically-active compounds, including cholinergic agonists [l-3].
