Итог:In recent decades, it has been established that anthropogenic activities have increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (UNEP,2004), so the possibility of global climate change has become a concern. This research overall objective is referred to the socio-environmental vulnerability of a potential sea level rise, emphasizing the physical impacts, loss of land specifically generated from Codera cape to the eastern end of Tacarigua lagoon,Miranda state. The study applied the “Common Methodology: seven steps for assessing vulnerability” (IPCC, 1992). Here, the results obtained in the first two methodological steps are presented, concerning the delimitation and socioeconomic characterization of the study area, to identify the approximate vulnerable number of people and households. We conclude that the population and households at risk because of the potential sea level rise of 0.5 m in, corresponding respectively to 34% and 27% of the impacted area. The urban land use and implementation of environmental regulations, provide the lift needed to coastal planning to gradually confront the effects of global change.
