| Sumari: | The aim of this study is to analyze the student’s activities of the texbook “Aventuras de patacalientes. Matemática Tercer Grado” corresponding to Colección Bicentenario. One of the most desirable features of the already mentioned textbook is its student’s activities; which help students to verify conceptual clarity, develop skills while doing a math operation, and deepen practical understanding. In this study, the 119 student’s activities of the text book were analyzed; firstly, by the relation of the taught content per unit and, then, by cognitive demand level of each activity- using the model of Stein, Smith, Henningsen, and Silver math’s homework (2000). As conclusions, it was seen that 28% of the activities were not related to the taught content of the unit and 92% of the 86 activities left belong to the lowest category of cognitive demands of the used model. Key words: math textbooks; student’s activities; cognitive demands. |
