Vol. 8, N° 15, 143 – 160Desde su fundación el Estado venezolano ha comprendido la importancia de la educación para el desarrollo del país a través de la formalización y obligatoriedad de la instrucción. Con el objetivo de reducir las desigualdades y contribuir al fortalecimiento de la economía, la instrucción básica recibió en su origen un acertado temperamento técnico y epistemológico. No obstante, considerando la existencia finita como un asunto que va más allá del trato con las cosas, es preciso que la educación tome en cuenta tanto la vivencia, como su relación e inmersión en la otredad y no sólo en la naturaleza. El objetivo del siguiente artículo es explorar la importancia de las humanidades en la educación venezolana como medio para fomentar la tolerancia a través de una metodología documental desde una perspectiva filosófica-sociológica. Se inicia abordando la vinculación de las instituciones religiosas a la educación desde lo más general hasta el contexto nacional. Seguidamente se enlaza problemáticamente la tolerancia a la noción contemporánea de cultura con miras a la inspección de la presencia de las humanidades en la educación venezolana durante la “revolución bolivariana”. Por último, se formula una concepción de educación como proceso la cual, sustentada en la tolerancia y la diversidad (cualidades constituyentes de las humanidades), expresa su importante y necesario talante democrático. ABSTRACT: Since its foundation, the Venezuelan State has understood the importance of education for the development of the country through the formalization and obligatory nature of instruction. With the objective of reducing inequalities and contributing to the strengthening of the economy, basic education received at its origin a correct technical and epistemological temperament. However, considering finite existence as a matter that goes beyond dealing with things, education must take into account both the experience and its relationship and immersion in otherness and not only in nature. The objective of the following article is to explore the importance of the humanities in Venezuelan education as a means to promote tolerance through a documentary methodology from a philosophical-sociological perspective. It begins by addressing the connection between religious institutions and education from the most general to the national context. Next, tolerance is problematically linked to the contemporary notion of with the intention to inspect the presence of the humanities in Venezuelan education during the “Bolivarian revolution”. Finally, a conception of education as a process is formulated which, based on tolerance and diversity (constituent qualities of the humanities), expresses its important and necessary democratic spirit.esAreté.
