It was evidenced that 22.8% of smokers also presented associated alcohol consumption and that the clinical debut of intestinal obstruction was present in 31.6% of the patients who smoked today; these 4 variables being statistically significant. Conclusion: Colorectal cancer presents clinicopathological aspects that are related to smoking. |

Métodos: se clasificaron a los 296 pacientes de acuerdo al hábito tabáquico entre fumadores actuales, exfumadores y no fumadores; y se correlacionaron con las variables clinicopatológicas de la población en estudio. Resultados: el 50,3% de la población presentaba hábito tabáquico; el 66,4% de los pacientes fumadores correspondían al sexo masculino y fueron 4 años mayores que los no fumadores. Se evidenció que el 22,8% de los fumadores también presentaban consumo de alcohol asociado y que el debut clínico de obstrucción intestinal se presentó en el 31,6% de los pacientes que fumaban actualmente; siendo estas 4 variables estadísticamente significativas.
