The sensibility and specificity obtain from ROC analyses for the P:C ratio was 53.3% and 93,3% respectively and AUC:0 76 being this value statistically significant and highly predictive. The 24-h protein has a sensibility and specificity greater than 80 % considering a good predictor with an AUC close to 1 with a great capacity to demonstrate proteinuria. The P:C ratio variability was calculated. A ratio below 0,47 could rule out proteinuria and a ratio above 0,55 confirms proteinuria. Conclusion: The P:C ratio shows a good correlation with a 24-h urine protein level with a r = 0,419 a value p = 0,021. The protein/creatinine ratio has a high specificity but a low sensibility, for this reason the clinical use of this ratio is to discard proteinuria, being this a more accessible, faster and economic procedure. We do not recommend to replace the gold standard 24-h proteinuria in pacients with pre-eclampsia. |

Métodos: Se realiza un estudio transeccional, descriptivo y correlacional, con 30 pacientes con el diagnostico de HIE: pre-eclampsia severa. Posterior a la resolución obstétrica, se recolectan orinas durante 24 horas usando una sonda de Foley y al pasar noventa minutos posterior a retirar la sonda se toma una muestra de orina para procesar la relación proteína-creatinina. Resultados: La relación P:C estuvo aumentada 3.2 veces más en los casos siendo estadísticamente significativa p=0,002. La sensibilidad y la especificidad según ROC es de 53.3% y de 93,3 %, el AUC = 0.76 siendo estadísticamente significativa y altamente predictiva. La proteinuria en 24 horas tiene una sensibilidad y especificidad > 80% siendo considerado un valor “bueno” con AUC cercano a 1 indicativo de buena capacidad predictiva de proteinuruia. Se calculo la variabilidad de la relación P:C. Por debajo de 0.47 se excluye proteinuria significativa y por encima de 0.55 se confirma. Conclusión: La relación P:C se correlaciona bien la proteinuria en 24 horas r = 0,419 con un valor (p = 0,021). Tienen una elevada especificidad, pero baja sensibilidad, por lo que su aplicación clínica radica en descartar proteinuria, siendo más accesible, rápido y económico.
